Archibald Combest 
Archibald was born about 1835 in Kentucky.1 Archibald's father was John Combest and his mother was Jane Spencer. His paternal grandparents were Samuel D. Combest and Sarah Dick; his maternal grandparents were \\ Spencer and <Unknown>. He had four brothers and a sister, named Samuel, Wiley, Alexander, John W. and Sarah Jane. He was the second youngest of the six children. He died in Stanley, Daviess County, Kentucky (Sherer Cem).1 General Notes

Descendants state that Archibald Combest was married to a Jane Cook. As neither a death record for Clarissa M. Cook Combest nor a marriage record of Archibald Combest to Jane Cook have not been found, it is believed that Clarissa M. Cook and Jane Cook are one and the same person. It is possible, but not probable, that Clarissa died and Archibald then married Jane Cook.
