M. C. was born about 1844 in ,Hawkins, Tennessee.1 M. C.'s father was William Lewis Christian and his mother was Elizabeth H. Thrasher. His paternal grandparents were John Christian and Nancy Skelton; his maternal grandfather was Isaac Thrasher. He had six brothers and five sisters, named William Skelton, Jesse R., Isaac L., James K., Joseph Frank, David Lyons, Elizabeth, Mary Elizabeth, Nancy, Rachel Matilda and Lillie Belle. He was the fifth oldest of the twelve children. He had three half-brothers and a half-sister, named Eldridge, Stephen H., John F. and Mahala Jane. He died about 1844 in ,Hawkins, Tennessee.1 -
