Joseph Frank was born in 1852 in ,Hawkins, Tennessee.1 Joseph Frank's father was William Lewis Christian and his mother was Elizabeth H. Thrasher. His paternal grandparents were John Christian and Nancy Skelton; his maternal grandfather was Isaac Thrasher. He had six brothers and five sisters, named William Skelton, Jesse R., Isaac L., M. C., James K., David Lyons, Elizabeth, Mary Elizabeth, Nancy, Rachel Matilda and Lillie Belle. He was the third youngest of the twelve children. He had three half-brothers and a half-sister, named Eldridge, Stephen H., John F. and Mahala Jane.-
