Melvina Carter

Melvina was born on November 5th, 1886 in Tennessee.¹ Melvina's father was James Harmon Carter and her mother was Mary Johanna Brown. Her maternal grandparents were John Brown and Mary Ash. She had seven brothers and four sisters, named Robert Lee, John, Frank, Joseph Henry, Winfrey B., Harry, Floyd Charles, Mary Ellen, Ida, Alberta and Florence Emaline. She was the fifth youngest of the twelve children. She died at the age of 40 on August 9th, 1927.¹
