Robert Cates 
Robert was born in 1698 in Henrico VA. Robert's father was Robert Ezra Cates and his mother was Mary Ann Randall. His paternal grandparents were William Abraham Cates and Margaret Agnes Ingles. He had five brothers named William, Richard, Thomas, Benjamin and John. He was the oldest of the six children.
