John Cates 
John was born in 1706 in Prince George VA. John's father was Robert Ezra Cates and his mother was Mary Ann Randall. His paternal grandparents were William Abraham Cates and Margaret Agnes Ingles. He had five brothers named Robert, William, Richard, Thomas and Benjamin. He was the youngest of the six children.
