Rachel Shanks 
Rachel was born in 1840 in , Hawkins, Tennessee. Rachel's father was John Shanks and her mother was Eda. Her paternal grandparents were Christian Shanks and Margaret Pearson. She had five brothers named Arthur, Riley, Nebuchednezzar, Clinton and Hiram. She was the oldest of the six children.
