Arthur Shanks 
Arthur was born in 1847 in , Hawkins, Tennessee. Arthur's father was John Shanks and his mother was Eda. His paternal grandparents were Christian Shanks and Margaret Pearson. He had four brothers and a sister, named Riley, Nebuchednezzar, Clinton, Hiram and Rachel. He was the second oldest of the six children.
