Benjamin was born about 1712 in Cumberland Co., PA . Benjamin's father was John PATTON and his mother was Matilda Ann WIDEMAN. His paternal grandparents were Matthew (The Martyr) (Patton) PATOUN and Christian PORTEOUS . He had six brothers named Mathew Leander (Old Matt), James , Joseph , John , Alexander and Tristram "Trussie". He was the fourth oldest of the seven children.-
