Octavia Jane was born on May 1st, 1839 in ( Near) Marion, Lawrence Co., Oh . Octavia Jane's father was John Sanford BARNETT and her mother was Mary Ann BAILES. Her paternal grandparents were Isaac BARNETT and Susannah UNKNOWN; her maternal grandparents were John BAILES and Mary "Polly" FOSTER. She had four brothers and five sisters, named Lycurges Hannibal, Orlando, Frances Royer, John Eden, Tymandra , Belvidere, Jerushia Ellen, Mary Ann and Susan Rosella. She was the fifth oldest of the ten children. She died at the age of 62 on September 1st, 1901 in Mahaska Co., IA .-
