William Robert was born about 1836 in Scottish Ridge, Monroe Co., AL . William Robert's father was Isaac ANDRESS and his mother was Mary "Polly" NETTLES. His paternal grandparents were Stephen ANDRESS and Nancy Ann SINGLETON; his maternal grandparents were William Joseph (Jr) NETTLES and Mary "Lucy" THORNLEY . He had four brothers and nine sisters, named James W. , James , Isaac C, George Washington , Nancy Marintha, Elizabeth J. , Susan A. , Mary , Alecy E. "Elcy", Ellen Ann , Martha , Rebecca Ann and Frances Caroline . He was the seventh youngest of the fourteen children. He died in Monroe Co., AL .-
