Martha was born on May 27th, 1837 in Scottish Ridge, Monroe Co., AL . Martha 's father was Isaac ANDRESS and her mother was Mary "Polly" NETTLES. Her paternal grandparents were Stephen ANDRESS and Nancy Ann SINGLETON; her maternal grandparents were William Joseph (Jr) NETTLES and Mary "Lucy" THORNLEY . She had five brothers and eight sisters, named James W. , William Robert, James , Isaac C, George Washington , Nancy Marintha, Elizabeth J. , Susan A. , Mary , Alecy E. "Elcy", Ellen Ann , Rebecca Ann and Frances Caroline . She was the sixth youngest of the fourteen children. She died at the age of 62 on March 6th, 1900 in Monroe Co., AL .-
