Thomas Spain 
Thomas was born about 1763 in Amelia County, Virginia.1 Thomas' father was David Spain and his mother was Abigail Roberts. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Spain and Martha Haskins; his maternal grandparents were John Roberts and Sarah Baldwin. He had three brothers and seven sisters, named William, John, David, Sarah, Nancy, Martha, Rebecca, Elizabeth, Amelia and Lucy. He was the third oldest of the eleven children. He died about 1804 in Wake County, North Carolina.1 General Notes
