Nancy Spain 
Nancy was born about 1766 in St Petersburg, Dinwiddie County, Virginia.1 Nancy's father was David Spain and her mother was Abigail Roberts. Her paternal grandparents were Thomas Spain and Martha Haskins; her maternal grandparents were John Roberts and Sarah Baldwin. She had four brothers and six sisters, named William, Thomas, John, David, Sarah, Martha, Rebecca, Elizabeth, Amelia and Lucy. She was the fourth oldest of the eleven children. She died on July 11th, 1851 in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. She was buried in Ramah Presbyterian Church.1 1 General Notes
