Johnny Raper 
Johnny was born on June 18th, 1901.1 Johnny's father was Henry Luther Raper and his mother was Etta Alice Moore. His maternal grandparents were William Griff Moore and Mary L English. He had five brothers and three sisters, named Samie James, Alton Morris, Edger George, Hunter Bywater, Henry Luther, Leona Ailene, Charlene and Sarah Jane. He died at the age of 71 on September 1st, 1972. He was buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Lamar County, Texas.1 1 General Notes

From an untitled, undated obituary. 'Johnnie Raper, a retired emplo yee of
Main Welding Company, died at his home,
491 W. Sherman, Friday mornin g. Funeral services are set for 2 p.m.
Saturday in Gene Roden's Sons chapel, with Dr.
James Semple officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Mr .
Raper was born 18 Jun 1901 in Maxey
community, a son of the late Luther Ra per and Etta Moore Raper. He
married the former Alverta Rita Carroll on 12
A ug 1922. He was a member of First Baptist Church. Mr. Raper is survived
by hi s wife; one son, Elbert Leon Raper
of Brownsville; two daughters, Mrs. Mary El izabeth Norris of Paris and
Mrs. Leo Jankowski of New Carlisle, Ind.;
four b rothers, Alton Raper, Edgar Raper and H.L. Raper, all or Paris,
and Hunter Ra per; thee sisters, Mrs. Jeff
Jackson, Mrs. Carl McDowell and Mrs. Joe Armstron g, all of Paris.
Thirteen grandchildren, including two grandsons,
Johnnie an d Randy Raper, whom Mr. Raper reared, also survive with three
great grandchil dren.' *On the same stone
