Hunter Bywater was born on May 10th, 1923.1 Hunter Bywater's father was Henry Luther Raper and his mother was Etta Alice Moore. His maternal grandparents were William Griff Moore and Mary L English. He had five brothers and three sisters, named Johnny, Samie James, Alton Morris, Edger George, Henry Luther, Leona Ailene, Charlene and Sarah Jane. He died at the age of 51 on December 24th, 1974 in Lamar County, Texas. He was buried in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Lamar County, Texas.1 1 General Notes

From an unnamed newspaper oibtuary dated December 24, 1974: 'Hunter Raper
of Tucson, Ariz. a truck driver and
farm laborer, died Tuesday. He wa s born May 10, 1923 in Maxey Community
near Paris, son of Henry Luther Raper
and Etta Alice Moore Raper. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in
the Navy. His survivors include one son,
Jerry Lynn Raper of Paris; one daughter, Mrs. Roy (Sharon Kay) Daniels
of Houston; three brothers, Alton Raper and
E dgar Raper, both of Paris, and H. L. Raper of Powderly; three sisters,
Mrs. L eona Jackson, Mrs. Sarah Armstrong,
and Mrs. Carl McDowell, all of Paris; and three grandchildren. Funeral
services are pending with Gene Roden's Sons,
Di rectors of Funerals.' *Tombstone is inscribed, 'S1 US Navy,
