David was born about 1844.1 David's father was George M. Oehler and his mother was Elizabeth B. Thomason. His maternal grandparents were Needham Thomasson and Elizabeth Spain. He had a brother and three sisters, named John, Harriett, Catherine and Fanny. He was the third oldest of the five children.General Notes
