Porter Nix 
Porter was born on March 14th, 1911.1 Porter's father was Lewis B Nix and his mother was Othella E Jack. His paternal grandparents were J C Nix and Miranda Germany. He had a brother and a sister, named Alton and Juanita L. He was the oldest of the three children. He died at the age of 28 on April 18th, 1939 in Atlanta, Georgia. He was buried on April 19th, 1939 in Evergreen Cemetery, Lamar County, Texas.1 1 General Notes

Notes: On the same stone with Dorothy Mathis Nix Maness. *From an old
scrapbook donated by Zoe Hazelwood, unamed undated: 'Porter Nix Dies of
Injuries: Porter Nix, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Nix, 162 East Washington,
wh o was injured when an explosion wrecked a Safeway Store building last
Saturda y, died at Atlanta Tuesday afternoon, according to information
received by th e Manton-Fry Funeral Home. The funeral home said services
will be held Wednes day afternoon at 3:30 at First Baptist Church, with
burial in Paris, probably at Evergreen Cemetery. A Manton-Fry funeral car
has gone to Atlanta for the body.'
