Juanita L was born on November 15th, 1912 in Roxton, Lamar County, Texas.1 Juanita L's father was Lewis B Nix and her mother was Othella E Jack. Her paternal grandparents were J C Nix and Miranda Germany. She had two brothers named Porter and Alton. She was the second oldest of the three children. She died at the age of 78 on October 27th, 1991 in Cherry Street Manor, Paris, Lamar County, Texas. She was buried on October 29th, 1991 in Evergreen Cemetery, Lamar County, Texas.1 1 General Notes

Born in Roxton daughter of Lewis & Othilla Jack Nix. Married T.L.
Higgins. He died Dec. 28, 1988. She attended Paris schools, Paris High
School, PJC, & East Te xas State Teachers College. Was a member of First
Baptist Church. [More] She worked 22 years in the Sunday School
Department of the church. Was employed 1 8 years in a medical clinic in
Bonham & worked 9 years for Dr. Craig Stephens & Dr. John Boatner. Was a
former member of the Altrusa Club & member of the state & national
Medical Assistants Assoc. Surviving are an aunt, Marie Dicks on of Paris &
a nephew , Richard Lee Nix of Yuam AR., & a niece, Mrs. Harley Harris of
Mesquite, & several cousins including A.L. Brown of Paris.' *On the same
stone with Taylor Leonard Higgins.
