Martha S was born in 1768 in Augusta, Virginia.1   Martha S' father was Samuel Buchanan and her mother was Elizabeth Duncan.  Her paternal grandparents were Samuel Buchanan and Martha McNutt. She had four brothers and five sisters, named Robert, Andrew, Samuel, John Brown, Jane, Mary, Elizabeth, Nancy and Peggy.  She was the oldest of the ten children.  She died about 1805 in Davidson County, Tennessee.1
