Anne Mayo was born about 1832. Anne Mayo's father was Nicholas Cabell Read and her mother was Clarissa Jane Read. Her paternal grandparents were Isaac II Read and Anne Mayo Venable; her maternal grandparents were Reverend Clement Read and Clarissa Jane Edmunds. She had three brothers and four sisters, named Isaac Archibald, Clement, George Whitfield II, Clarissa Jane, Harriet Scott, Sarah and Rosa. She was the second oldest of the eight children.-
