Walter E. Hottel 
Walter E. was born on January 8th, 1870 in Fredericksburg, Washington County, Indiana. Walter E.'s father was Levi Pitman Hottel and his mother was Anett Horner. His paternal grandparents were Peter Hottel and Elizabeth Pitman; his maternal grandparents were Samuel Horner and Mary Leah "Polly" Andrew. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Milton Benton, Wilbur W., Louis , Lillian (Lillie) Mae and Flora Anita. He was the third oldest of the six children.General Notes
Walter E. Hottel was a graduate of the Indiana State University, 1895. He was a city attorney of Bloomington, Monroe County, Indiana from 1902-1904. As a member of the Indiana Legislature, 1897, he voted to pass the county option law. He was a member of the Bloomington city school board and was president of the board in 1916. He later served as its secretary.
