Oliver Shafer 
Oliver was born in 1855 in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, UT.1 Oliver's father was John O Shafer and his mother was Hannah Casto. His maternal grandparents were Abel Casto and Mary Polly Galland. He had five brothers and four sisters, named Orson William, John Henry, James Alma, Frank, Charles, Mary Adaline, Eliza, Eleanor and Maybell. He was the fifth oldest of the ten children.-
