Doctor was born in February 1866. Doctor's father was Doctor Franklin Mahaffey and his mother was Larceny June Unknown. His paternal grandparents were Joseph Mahaffey and Mary Elizabeth Allman. He had three brothers and two sisters, named John Wesley, Thomas P, James R, Margaret Louise and Laura C. He was the oldest of the six children. He had two half-brothers named Rufus L and Judson J.-
