Her maternal grandparents were William Thomas Beggs and Margaret Jane Hess. She had eight brothers and three sisters, named Arnold Russell, Bazil Cecil, William Gordon, Donald Clifford, David Roy, Lyle Harold, Orville Howard, Living, Edith Eleanor May, Lillian Velma and Florence Alice Pearl.-
