Robert was born in 1843. Robert's father was Robert Beggs and his mother was Janet (Jennie) Magee. His paternal grandparents were Robert Beggs and Sarah Whiteford. He had eight brothers and a sister, named Samuel, James, William James, Thomas, Hugh, John, Joseph, Hugh and Margaret. He was the fifth oldest of the ten children. He died in MI.-
