!Railroad brakeman Homestead E2NE4 &E2 SE4 Sec 22 T19S R46W 160 acres $10 sold 1899, FC No 1110 issued 28 Feb 1906 Cert # 4753 As he was a railroad worker, he was transferred a lot--the family lived in Bessemer, Durango, Cripple Creek, Chivington...!Eunice Durham remembers that he came to visit her once, as does Billy Taos (Barbara Pierce)--he was a wanderer; no one knew where he was most of the time. Daughter Alma took care of his funeral arrangements, as he had nothing. Death Certificate says informant was hospital records. !Before marrying Ina, he lived near the Towses--I think next door, and perhaps lived with a brother...!Joined the Cripple Creek gold rush, mining half the year. Appears on the
census as a gold miner, this info prob related to f-in-law Towse's 1898
written comment (in a letter written from Victor, Colo) that "the Little
Perrill mine that Chas is interested in is coming out ok"
