William de Bohun, K.G., Earl of Northampton.

He assisted King Edward III in the seizure of the Earl of Marc h in 1330 and from that time was one of the King's most active c ouncillors. He was created Earl of Northampton on 16 Mar 1336/7 . On 24 June 1340 he took a leading part in the King's victory a t Sluys, and was with him at the siege of Tournay. He fought a t Crcy on 26 Aug 1346, and participated in the siege of Calais . In later years he frequenly had licences to export wool, bot h as a means of recouping his expenses and on the King's behalf.
