Edmund de Mortimer 
Edmund was born before 1252.1 Edmund's father was Roger de Mortimer and his mother was Maud de Braiose. His paternal grandparents were Ralph de Mortimer and Gladys Dhu; his maternal grandparents were William de Braose V Lord Abergavenny and Eva Marshal. He had a sister named Isabella. He was the younger of the two children. He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Edmund de Mortimer and Isolde (Iseude). He died on July 17th, 1304.1 General Notes

He was discussed many years ago in an article "Two Mortimer Note s" in the New England Historical and Genealogical Register, vol . 116, pp. 16-17, by Charles Evans. The date often given for th e birth of Edmund is much too late -- he was age 30 and more i n 1282 (i.e., born in or before 1252). See the second edition o f Cokayne's *Complete Peerage*, vol. IX [1936], p. 281. This wo uld make him about 37 or more at the birth of his grandson.
