Martha Ann (Emma) was born on April 20th, 1843 in In or near Chapin, South Carolina.1 Martha Ann (Emma)'s father was Andrew Shealy and her mother was Mary Caroline Sease. Her maternal grandparents were John C. Sease and Christina Bearberg Lowman. She had four brothers and seven sisters, named Leonard L., Isaac, John Andrew, Noah Eusebious, Elizabeth Lucinda, Isabelle, Mahaly Catherine, Alice Eugenia (Jane), Laura Anne Marilla (Susannah), Mary and Cummings Ada. She was the third oldest of the twelve children. She died at the age of 82 on June 17th, 1925 in In or near Chapin, South Carolina. She was buried in Mt. Horeb Lutheran Cemetery, Chapin, South Carolina.1 1 -
