Cummings Ada was born on May 7th, 1862 in In or near Chapin, South Carolina.1 Cummings Ada's father was Andrew Shealy and her mother was Mary Caroline Sease. Her maternal grandparents were John C. Sease and Christina Bearberg Lowman. She had four brothers and seven sisters, named Leonard L., Isaac, John Andrew, Noah Eusebious, Elizabeth Lucinda, Isabelle, Martha Ann (Emma), Mahaly Catherine, Alice Eugenia (Jane), Laura Anne Marilla (Susannah) and Mary. She was the youngest of the twelve children. She died at the age of 54 on January 19th, 1917 in In or near Chapin, South Carolina. She was buried in St. Jacob's Lutheran Cemetery, Chapin, South Carolina.1 1 -
