  Clinton Man Drowns in Lake Greenwood
  
  Clinton, March 12 -- (Special) - Searchers dragged the muddy waters of
  Lake Greenwood, on the Greenwood county side near Chappells, today for
  the body of Thomas M. Sease, 44, of Clinton, who was drowned late
  Saturday afternoon when a new aluminum boat which he and a companion,
  identified only as Mr. Shealy were trying out, capsized approximately 100
  yards offshore.
  
  According to Sheriff Caldwell Weir of Laurens county, the men had gone
  fishing in the new boat when the motor stopped and it was while efforts
  were being made to start the motor that the boat overturned.  Mr. Shealy
  was rescued, but Mr. Sease went down before aid could reach him.  It was
  reported that he was not a very good swimmer.
  
  Other sources of information reported that Shealy was rescued by Charles
  McClain, who owned a cafe and lodge on the shore and put out in a boat
  after seeing the accident, but that Sease sank before he was reached.
  
  Efforts to locate the body today were futile, attempts being hampered by
  35-food deep water and numerous stumps and trees that litter the bottom.
  
  Mr. Sease was a well known citizen of Clinton.  He was a native of
  Newberry county, but had made his home in Clinton for a number of years
  where he was a member of St. John's Lutheran church and was a member of
  the church council.  Mr. Sease had been employed by the C.N.& L. railroad
  as section foreman.  He was a member of Campbell Masonic lodge No. 44
  where he took an active part in all its activities.
  
  Survivors include his widow, the former Miss Margaret Boozer; four sons,
  John, Tommy, Billy and George Sease, all of Clinton; two daughters, Peggy
  and Myrna Sease, both of Clinton; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.A. Sease of
  Prosperity; four brothers, E.C. Sease of Columbia, R.E. Sease of Atlanta,
  Ga., Cmdr. J.C. Sease of Guam and Major G.A. Sease of Washington, D.C.;
  and two sisters, Mrs. H.F. Richardson and Miss Grace Sease, both of
  Columbia.
