Ermentrude was born about 1060.1 Ermentrude's father was William I The Great Count Of Burgundy and her mother was Stephanie Of Longwy. Her paternal grandparents were Raynald I Count Of Burgundy and Alice of Normandy; her maternal grandparents were Adalbert II Duke Of Upper Lorraine and Clemencia De FOX. She had two brothers and two sisters, named Stephen, Raymond, Matilda (Sibylle) and Gisele. She was the second oldest of the five children.1 General Notes
