Sir John de Courtenay was born in 1218 in Okehampton, Devonshire, England.1 Sir John de Courtenay's father was Sir and his mother was Mary de Vernon. His paternal grandparents were Renaud de Courtenay II sn de Courtenay and Hawise de Courcy; his maternal grandparents were William de Vernon de Reviers Earl of Devon and Mabel de Beaumont. He was an only child. He died at the age of 56 on May 3rd, 1274 in Okehampton, Devonshire, England.1 -
