Sir 
Sir was born in 1170 in of Okehampton, Devonshire, England.1 Sir's father was Renaud de Courtenay II sn de Courtenay and his mother was Hawise de Courcy. His paternal grandparents were Renaud de Courtenay sn de Courtenay and Hawise (Joscelin) le Donjon; his maternal grandparents were Sir and Maud de Avranches. He was an only child. He died at the age of 72 on July 26th, 1242 in Iwerne, Dorset, England.1 General Notes
