Richard de Lucy was born about 1176 in of Egremont & Coupland, Yorkshire.1 Richard de Lucy's father was Reginald de Lucy and his mother was Amabel FitzWilliam. His paternal grandparents were William de Lucy and Cecilia de Lucy; his maternal grandparents were William the Noble FitzDuncan Earl of Moray and Alice le Meschin. He was an only child.
