Otho was born about 1000.1 Otho's father was Herbert III Count Of Vermandois and his mother was Ermengarde Of Bar. His paternal grandparents were Albert I The Pious Count Of Vermandois and Gerberga Of Lorraine; his maternal grandfather was Reinald Count Of Bar. He had a half-brother named Renaud.
