Essie Owens Boland 
Essie Owens was born on November 3rd, 1883.1 Essie Owens' father was Daniel Calhoun Boland and her mother was Christina Catherine Caroline Metts. Her paternal grandparents were Ozro Boland and Anna Levena Koon; her maternal grandparents were George Metts and Elizabeth Sease. She had four brothers and six sisters, named Marion Quincy, Jacob Early, Irvin B., Dewitt Charles, Erie Angie, Carrie Floyd, Mary Alma, Emma, Eula and Eunice Mae. She had two half-sisters named Lola and Angie. She died at the age of 100 on December 11th, 1983. She was buried in St. Peters Pineywoods, Chapin, South Carolina.1 1 -
