Ann Crump was born on July 17th, 1917. Ann Crump's father was Pendleton McLain Shiflett and her mother was Mary Louise Bowles. Her maternal grandparents were Thomas Joseph Bowles and Ann Bigger Crump. She had three brothers and a sister, named Pendleton McLain, Robert Walter, Thomas Bowles and Mary Louise. She was the second oldest of the five children.-
