Martha was born in 1772 in Henrico Co., VA. Martha's father was John Mosby and her mother was Lucy Allen. Her paternal grandparents were John Mosby and Martha Womack; her maternal grandparents were James Allen and Lucy Hobson. She had five brothers and five sisters, named Benjamin, Joseph, William, Hezekiah, Samuel, Susanna, Elizabeth, Mary, Lucy and Ann. She was the youngest of the eleven children.-
