William Leigh 
William was born on October 4th, 1790 in Prince Edward Co., Virginia. William's father was Zachariah Greenhill Leigh and his mother was Priscilla Allen Townes. His paternal grandparents were John Leigh and Elizabeth Greenhill; his maternal grandparents were John Townes and Martha Allen. He had three brothers and four sisters, named (son), John Townes, Richard Henry, Martha Allen, Elizabeth, Elizabeth Greenhill and Catherine. He was the third oldest of the eight children. He died at the age of 82 on July 21st, 1873 in Florence, Alabama.-
