John Townes Leigh 
John Townes was born on March 4th, 1786 in Amelia Co. Virginia. John Townes' father was Zachariah Greenhill Leigh and his mother was Priscilla Allen Townes. His paternal grandparents were John Leigh and Elizabeth Greenhill; his maternal grandparents were John Townes and Martha Allen. He had three brothers and four sisters, named (son), William, Richard Henry, Martha Allen, Elizabeth, Elizabeth Greenhill and Catherine. He was the second oldest of the eight children. He died at the age of 63 on January 21st, 1850 in Yolobusha Co., Mississippi.-
