Robert Anderson was born on October 9th, 1854 in "Brookville", Henrico Co., VA. Robert Anderson's father was Thomas Mifflin Ladd and his mother was Lucy Elizabeth Cowardin. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Ladd and Ann Bell; his maternal grandparents were John Lewis Cowardin and Mary Rhodes White. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Aaron Burr, Thomas Mifflin, John Bell, Jane McKenzie, Mary Ann and Lucy Lavalette. He was the second youngest of the seven children. He was buried in Emmanuel Episcopal Church, Henrico Co., VA.-
