John Bell Ladd 
John Bell was born on January 30th, 1846. John Bell's father was Thomas Mifflin Ladd and his mother was Lucy Elizabeth Cowardin. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Ladd and Ann Bell; his maternal grandparents were John Lewis Cowardin and Mary Rhodes White. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Aaron Burr, Thomas Mifflin, Robert Anderson, Jane McKenzie, Mary Ann and Lucy Lavalette. He was the third oldest of the seven children.-
