Thomas was born on August 17th, 1647.  Thomas' father was William Claiborne and his mother was Elizabeth Butler.  His paternal grandparents were Thomas Clayborn and Sara Smyth; his maternal grandparents were John Butler and Jane Elliott. He had three brothers and two sisters, named William, John, Leonard, Jane and Elizabeth.  He died at the age of 36 on October 7th, 1683.
