James Chappell 
James was born in 1755 in Amelia Co., VA. James' father was James Chappell and his mother was Susan Hudson. His paternal grandparents were Robert Chappell and Sarah Cox. He had five brothers and four sisters, named William, John, Miles, Robert, Abner, Sarah, Ann, Martha and Elizabeth. He had two half-sisters named Dorothy and Catherine. He died at the age of 71 on January 2nd, 1826 in Halifax Co., VA on Bannister River.General Notes
Enlisted in Continental Army 3/1/1777; served in 3d co., 2d Virginia Regular until war's end.
