Robert was born about 1680 in Charles City Co., VA. Robert's father was Thomas Chappell and his mother was Elizabeth Jones. His paternal grandparents were Thomas Chappell and Mary Bannister; his maternal grandparents were James Jones and Sarah Lewis. He had three brothers and a sister, named Thomas, James, Samuel and Annie. He was the second oldest of the five children. He died in Bristol Parish, Charles City Co., VA.General Notes
