Anna was born on October 25th, 1833 in Campbell Co., Virginia. Anna's father was Rowland Blankenship and her mother was Martha Butler. Her paternal grandparents were Archibald Blankenship and Prudence Conday. She had three brothers and three sisters, named Edward Levi, Leslie Combs, Charles T., Mary P., Sarah Elizabeth and Elvira. She was the second oldest of the seven children. She had a half-brother named John Archer.-
