Charles Frederick Bates 
Charles Frederick was born on April 11th, 1822.1 Charles Frederick's father was Micajah Bates and his mother was Mary Hargrave. His paternal grandparents were Benjamin Bates and Tace Crew; his maternal grandparents were Samuel Hargrave and Elizabeth ?. He had four brothers and five sisters, named Elisha Henry, William Savery, Benjamin, Samuel Edward, Tace Elizabeth, Martha, Catherine, Louisa Jane and Mary. He was the oldest of the ten children. He had six half-brothers and a half-sister, named Micajah, Hugh Balderston, Frank Tyree, Jacob, Walter Gurney, John and Margaret Wilson. He died at the age of 13 on July 27th, 1835 in Age 13 years, 3 months, & 7 days.1 -
