Winifred Cotton

Winifred was born in 1568 in Combermere, Cheshire, , England. Winifred's father was Sir Richard Cotton and her mother was Mary Mainwaring. Her paternal grandparents were Sir George Cotton Knight and Mary Onley; her maternal grandparents were Arthur Mainwaring and Margaret Mainwaring. She had three brothers and four sisters, named George, Arthur, Andrew, Mary, Frances, Elizabeth and Dorothy. She was the seventh oldest of the eight children.
